Let me start by telling what you this blog is not. It is not just a baking blog, a blog about how to get ripped abs in 30 seconds or less, or a blog about life’s greatest question: Harry Potter vs. Twilight. It is a compilation of various things that make me happy.
Some little tidbits you should know to better understand my writing style:
I have an abnormal obsession with the proper use of grammar. In my high school rhetoric class, I was dubbed the Grammar Queen. There was a crown. No joke.
I am an unrelenting lover of literature in its every form: novels, periodicals, music, poetry, music, plays, and history. I can’t expose myself to enough of it! (I consider music and movies literature. It goes against ALL English rules, but you just have to be a rebel sometimes.)
Cats + Dogs = Not My Thing. I know. I have no soul, but I just don’t like pets! So don’t expect any pictures of puppies and koalas cuddling.
If I ever find myself with a free moment, I make sure to immediately change that! There is nothing more gratifying than attacking my goals, resulting in a chaotic day.
I used to be afraid of shoelaces. No idea why. I outgrew that fear once I turned 20. I don’t know how that relates to my writing, but maybe I’ll write a poem about Velcro someday?
I also am a blogger for the Everyday Health Voices of Experience website! I have had type 1 diabetes since 11 months old, and I like to share my successes, failures, and achievements through my writing.
Dr. Seuss is my inspiration to writing children’s books, though our writing styles are extremely different. I am constantly inspired by his words. He put it best when he said:
“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”
